Cirkl is a community-driven goods-sharing platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use the Cirkl mobile and web apps (the “Service”). By using Cirkl, you agree to these practices.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
- Account and profile information: username, email, hashed password, and optional details you add such as name, avatar, address, city, country, and language.
- Community and sharing content: item listings (titles, descriptions, categories, photos), comments, messages, borrow or lend requests, circle memberships and invitations, and achievement or activity logs.
- Location-related data (optional): addresses or latitude/longitude you provide for your profile, circles, or items to help with proximity-based sharing.
- Device and usage data: log data, app actions, and event analytics. We use Plausible Analytics (a privacy-first, cookie-less analytics tool) to gather aggregated information such as page URL, referrer, device type, approximate region, and events like item creation or borrow actions.
- Notifications and communications: your preferences, push notification tokens/subscriptions, and messages related to sharing requests, reminders, and invitations.
- Cookies and local storage: session cookies and similar technologies that keep you signed in, store language/preferences, and maintain security.
3. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and secure the Service, including authentication and fraud prevention.
- Facilitate sharing and borrowing, show items from your circles, and deliver updates or reminders you request.
- Send service messages (e.g., invites, borrow approvals, returns) and manage your notification preferences.
- Improve the Service through aggregated analytics, debugging, and performance monitoring.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4. How we share information
- With other users: information you choose to share (such as your profile, item details, and activity) is visible to people in your circles or to recipients of invitations you send.
- Service providers: trusted vendors that host our infrastructure, deliver push notifications or email, provide analytics (Plausible), or offer security and performance services. They process data only to help us run the Service.
- Legal and safety: to comply with law, respond to legal requests, or protect rights, safety, and security.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the Service, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Aggregated or de-identified data may be kept for analytics and security. You can request account deletion or data access/rectification by contacting info@scell.it. Deleting your account removes personal data from active systems, subject to lawful retention requirements.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and hashed passwords, to protect data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your account credentials confidential.
7. International transfers
If you access Cirkl from outside the country where our servers or service providers are located, your information may be transferred across borders. We apply appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law.
8. Your choices and rights
- Access, update, or correct your profile information in the app.
- Manage notification preferences in the app or your device settings; you may opt out of push notifications at any time.
- Request a copy or deletion of your personal data by emailing info@scell.it. We will honor requests in line with applicable laws.
9. Children’s privacy
Cirkl is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Do not use the Service if you are under 13, and do not allow under-13 children to create accounts. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Service or legal requirements. We will post the revised policy here with a new “Last updated” date. Significant changes may also be communicated in-app or by email when appropriate.
